Bio

Blanca Maldonado is a Mexican and indigenous Zapotec illustrator, who grew up in Los Angeles. Her work is influenced by her rich cultural heritage and personal experiences.

She is currently working on a project about Indigenous Futurism, a movement that combines elements of science fiction and fantasy with indigenous culture, traditions, and perspectives. This genre reimagines indigenous futures, blending ancestral knowledge and contemporary technology to create narratives that challenge and expand our understanding of the past, present, and future.
